Spring 2020 Covenants Inspections and other GMP News

Covenants inspections are scheduled to start this week. The board has decided to continue our yearly inspections, but given these unprecedented circumstances will allow extra time to fix noted issues.

Some other upcoming items to note for the community:

  • We will soon start on a refresh of the butterfly pond's landscaping.  The current look has not been up to community standards.

  • We are also issuing proposal requests to fix our gazebo on the green, which has sustained a lot of damage recently.

  • Our tot lot has been inspected and soon we will have new swings, as well as clean up and fix any broken equipment.

  • The board has also signed a contract to build a gate which will cut the soccer field parking lot in half.  This way our residents can still enjoy the area, but it should also prevent cars from parking in the back where there has been a plethora of unwanted activities.  Parking signs have been posted and access is allowed from sunrise to sunset, so if you see anyone there at night please contact the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office at 703-777-1021.

  • The clubhouse has been painted and the old furniture/decor has either been sold or donated.  New WiFi has been added as well as a new TV over the fireplace.  We have run into some logistical issues with the new furnishings being delivered thanks to Covid-19 and are not sure at this point when the clubhouse will be complete. We will update you when we have a date.

  • We have opened the pool and are undertaking maintenance in anticipation of the pool being used this summer.  An opening date will be dependent on the state of Virginia.

We hope you are all doing well during these uncertain times.  We have a very special community here that we must protect.  If you ever need anything please feel free to reach out to a board member, all contact information is listed on the GMP website, greenemillpreserve.com.

Proxy Vote This Tuesday

As notified via US Mail, a proxy vote meeting is going to take place at the clubhouse on January 7, 2020 at 7pm regarding the commercial lot.

The board continues to hold the position that purchasing the lot provides the greatest opportunity to ensure the harmony of the community is maintained for years to come.  With many voices indicating an opposing view and call for the proxy vote to rescind, the board encourages every association member to be equally represented and have their voices heard by their presence or by proxy.

Please come to the meeting to be heard, discuss, and vote. If unable to attend, contact anyone of the board members for assistance in delivering your executed proxy.

Thank you, bring a neighbor, and we look forward to seeing everyone.
